Criminal Investigative Analysis- Basic Certificate

Criminal Investigative Analysis (CIA), also known as criminal profiling, is an investigative tool used within the law enforcement community to help solve violent crimes. The analysis is based on a review of evidence from the crime scene and from witnesses and victims.


Topics covered:
Techniques required to identify the serial nature of crimes
Type of person who commits these crimes, their crime scene patterns
The offender's motivation for committing such offenses

This program is designed for law enforcement personnel and those interested in entering law enforcement.

Through lecture, demonstration, and the use of audio and video media, all participants will have the opportunity to analyze cases involving actual killers and rapists and to then develop and practice their profiling skills by creating their own in-class profiles.
